Most days are filled with noise—conversations, responsibilities, opinions, headlines, and the endless feeling that our attention belongs somewhere else.

Then, every once in a while, something interrupts all of it.

For me, it was this iris.

As I painted, handwritten observations became part of the background, slowly dissolving beneath layers of color. They represent the constant stream of thoughts that fills our days. Against them, the flower stands quietly, asking for nothing more than a moment of attention.

I wasn't interested in creating a botanical illustration. I wanted to paint the experience of noticing.

The white petals catch the light without demanding it. The surrounding brushwork remains loose and expressive, allowing the flower to emerge naturally from its environment rather than feeling separated from it.

I've come to believe that beauty often isn't something we find. It's something we finally make time to see.
