A vibrant orange lily emerges from layers of cool blues and handwritten observations, celebrating the quiet beauty that often goes unnoticed.
Painted with expressive brushwork and built from moments of observation, this piece invites the viewer to slow down and simply look.
Some flowers demand your attention.
This lily was one of them.
Its brilliant orange petals seemed to glow against the cool greens and blues surrounding it, creating one of those moments where the world quietly insists that you stop walking and pay attention.
Rather than painting a perfect botanical study, I wanted to capture the experience of encountering it.
The handwritten notes beneath the paint are fragments of observation. Thoughts and impressions that gradually disappear into the layers of color. Like memories, they’re still present, even when they can no longer be fully read.
I find myself returning to flowers again and again because they remind me that beauty isn’t rare. It surrounds us every day. The challenge isn’t finding it, it’s slowing down enough to notice.
This painting is an invitation to do exactly that.
