Bob Dylan - Forever Young

$100.00

Built from the handwritten lyrics to my favorite Bob Dylan song, Forever Young, this portrait explores the songs that quietly shape our lives.

Layered with expressive brushwork and handwritten text, the painting celebrates music’s ability to become part of who we are.

There are songs we listen to.

And then there are songs that stay with us.

Forever Young has always felt less like a song and more like a blessing. It’s hopeful without being naïve, gentle without losing its strength. As I painted this portrait, I covered the surface with the hand painted lyrics before slowly allowing Dylan’s face to emerge from the words themselves.

The lyrics aren’t hidden beneath the paint—they’re woven into it. They become part of the portrait, just as the songs we love become part of us over time.

Rather than chasing a perfect likeness, I wanted this painting to capture something more difficult to describe: the feeling of returning to a familiar song years later and discovering it has quietly grown alongside you.

Like all of my lyric portraits, this piece lives somewhere between portraiture and memory. It’s a painting about music, time, and the invisible ways art leaves its mark on us.

Whether you’re a lifelong Dylan fan or someone who simply believes that music can change a life, I hope this painting reminds you of the songs you’ve carried with you all these years.
